3 Simple Tips To Make Your Emails Stand Out

Do you spend time every week creating emails to send out to your followers, but see little return for the time you invest? Do you have very few responses, or only a handful of people that open your emails? It might be that you need to reconsider how you view your email list. Here are 3 tips for making your emails stand out.

One: Catch Their Interest

When you look through your email, what's the first thing you look at? Is it the name in the address bar, or is the subject line? For most people, it's the subject line. That first sentence is what catches your attention and either convinces you to open the email or move on to something else. The best way to convince people to open it is to engage their curiosity. Leave an open ended sentence, something that they'll want to finish reading, and they will open your email. It's human nature.

Two: Make It Personal

Which of these feels more personal? "Hey everyone!" or "How are you today?" The second, right? In today's era of social media and connectivity, people want to feel connected to their brands. They want to feel that they aren't getting an automated message. They don't want to be just part of crowd of thousands. They want to think that you might be writing to just them. Keep your greeting and your presentation in the body of the email personal and people will respond.

Three: Soft Sell

This one sounds counter-intuitive, but it works. If all you do is Sell, Sell, Sell, you're going to have a high turnover in your email lists. People will come for a while... But once they realize that all you do is try to get them buying, they'll disengage and go elsewhere. You want to entertain or educate them, make them feel valuable to your company, and then at the end of the email mention something along the lines of " P.S. if you're interested in learning more about today's topics, you can purchase our course. If not, we'll see you tomorrow." Keep it soft. Give them an option, and you'll build a fanbase that continues growing, instead of turning over regularly.
